Alaska Congressional Election 2016 Political Courage Test

Pro-life Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
No In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
No In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
We need to restructure the IRS and create a flat tax system. The federal government need to spend within their means. We need to eliminate increasing the debt limit.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
Citizen United needs to be eliminated.
Yes Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
Yes Do you support alternatives to incarceration for certain non-violent offenders such as mandatory counseling or substance abuse treatment?
Yes Do you support mandatory minimum sentences for non-violent drug offenders?
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support lowering taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support providing tax incentives to businesses for the purpose of job creation?
A flat tax system would provide opportunities for this. We would not need to create incentives businesses for the purpose of job creation.
No Do you support requiring states to implement education reforms in order to be eligible for competitive federal grants?
It is the sates that need to create their educational requirements. Requiring educational reforms is how we ended up with "Common Core". Common Core is failing our young people.
Yes Do you support building the Keystone XL pipeline?
No Do you support funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
Yes Do you support increased regulations on the hydraulic fracturing ("fracking") industry?
I support fracking, as long as it is done in an responsible way.
No Do you believe that human activity is contributing to climate change?
No Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
I believe that the states should be responsible for regulating industry's in their state.
No Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
I firmly believe in the spirit of the 2nd Amendment. If we promoted exercising our 2nd Amendment rights half as much as we promote gun control we would live in a safer country.
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
Health care, like any business, needs to be competitive in the private sector. This is to include health insurance being competitive across state lines.
Yes Do you support requiring illegal immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
Constitution Right are reserved for Americans. Illegal or legal immigrants have Civil and human right afforded them, but not Constitutional rights. They should go through the proper process to earn the right to be an American.
No Do you support same-sex marriage?
I believe that a marriage is between a man and a woman. That being said, I don't think that the federal government should be involved in personal choices of who they want to marry that individuals make. I never ask the government if it was ok to marry my wife. 2 consenting adults should not need to have the governments blessing to get married.
No Do you support targeting suspected terrorists outside of official theaters of conflict?
No Should the U.S use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the United States from possessing a nuclear weapon?
Do you support targeting suspected terrorists outside of official theaters of conflict? I answered no to this because it is a vague question. Is this referencing in the U.S or not. And on what criteria is someone considered a terrorist. If Americans decide to speak against their government, are they terrorist? I answered no to the second question because I think that sanctions have work well in the past. Military force should only be used as a last resort. Remenber, it is Americans were sending to fight and die.
Yes Do you support allowing individuals to divert a portion of their Social Security taxes into personal retirement accounts?

I support a flat tax. A flat tax with a $30,000 exemption will lower middle-income families tax liabilities and increase high-income families tax liabilities due to eliminating all the loopholes and deductions. The government needs to spend within the tax income that is available to them, not tax everyone to satisfy their insatiable spending habits.
Securing the border, strengthen our economy and taking care of our wounded veterans. We pay for these by eliminating foreign aid to country's that are not our allies. We get out of the U.N and spend the billions of dollars on America. We start decreasing funding to BLM, EPA, F&W, Dept. of Education, Dept. of Energy, National Parks service, to name a few, 10% each year for the next 10 years. That is how we will pay for getting America's priorities paid for and get back to having a nation of Liberty, Freedom and Independence for all Americans.
